"Just took out of the box to replace my other radar detector that I had for 23 years and followed all directions and downloaded the drive smarter app so I can download the latest firmware updates and of course the app cannot locate my device and this is super frustrating because now I cannot download anything to this device as it on its own don't have Bluetooth. Stay tuned for usage review as i start driving but so far 1 STAR."
"Have been using this for about a week now and it works great. My only problem would be the mounting system, it is an adhesive instead of suction cups meaning once it is placed there is no moving the base as opposed to being able to detach the suction cups as well."
"I’ve been really happy with the Cobra RAD 390. It was extremely easy to set up and use right out of the box, and the controls are straightforward without a bunch of unnecessary complexity. What I like most is that it gives me the alerts I need without constantly becoming a distraction while driving. The detection range has been impressive, giving me plenty of advance warning, and the display is bright and easy to read at a glance. It feels well-built, works consistently, and does exactly what I bought it to do. For the price, I think the RAD 390 offers a great combination of performance, simplicity, and value. Definitely a purchase I’m happy with and would recommend."
"Affordable yet very reliable. This is a great quality radar and very easy to set up. The compact design doesn’t take up much room on the dashboard either. Setup was straightforward, and the controls are easy to understand once you get familiar with them. Overall, it’s a useful little device and I like having the extra awareness while driving. "Haven’t used a detector for 30 years since the law demanded that they were banned from semi trucks. Had a Cobra then and decided to go with another today because I bought a late model Mustang and I suffer with a heavy foot. If it keeps me out of trouble then I’ll be forever grateful. The only problem I have with it is that the power plug is very short and the outlet is deep. It’s impossible for me to grab it with my fingers and unplug it so it is always going to draw power even if it turned off. Not cool."
"This is a great radar for highway driving. Has current technology and has updatable firmware. Provides both visual LED alerts and audible alerts. I like that it’s a simple plug-and-play I can grab and get on the highway. Also good around town if you’re in a strict enforcement neighborhood. Cobra has done me right over the years."
"Doesn't have a city and highway button. K band keeps going off while in city because of automatic doors on stores. Had to turn K band completely off in city to stop the false alarms"
"Compact little unit, easy to mount with adhesive and includes USB C cord plus lighter plug adapter . Works well with various settings including a sensitivity selection to filter out unwanted warnings. It's got a volume control on the side to set the volume for your warnings. There's also an Extreme mode that will warn you for everything. Great for when you're moving down a highway and the man is hiding in the bushes."
