Would this speaker be could not for the PA feature but just for the CB in general?

The HG S500 is not waterproof.
What size jack is used for external speaker
The unit has a black 10ft long 3.5mm audio jack that will connect to the back of our CB radios Ext Speaker port and a red cord that plugs into the PA Jack on the back.
I keep seeing the "External" reference, but I am assuming it just means external to whatever it is connected to. I bring this up because one of our vendor/installers has connected a couple of these to our two-way radio in our trucks and mounted it outside the cab on the headache rack. Are these external, as in outdoor rated?
