"Bought these as a gift for my son. He likes they're all different colors. It makes it easy to figure out which one belongs to who. I also like the call feature. If the kids left one behind or lost it somewhere you can press the button and they all make a ringing sound so you can find them. (just make sure to keep them turned on!) The cheapest ones don't have that. Range is pretty good. If the wife is in the basement office and the kids are at the park a couple blocks away they can still hear each other. I didn't think that would work. Our friends have cheaper walkies and they're fine if you're right next to each other rooms but they stop working even a few houses away. I did my research and this model isn't the absolute strongest transmitter but it's much better than the cheap ones. For a three pack I think it's a good price. It says weather resistant but I haven't tried them in the rain. I'd guess they can take a drizzle but not much more than that. At this price it should come with a free dock. They do charge with the USB cable that comes in the box so it's not a huge deal. I bought the extra dock anyway (it's like $15) so kids don't have to fiddle with the cables. All in all it's more than I originally planned to spend but they're working well and I think they're going to last for a long time."
