What is the 19 MINI AM/FM CB?
The Cobra 19 MINI AM/FM CB is a fully featured ultra-compact
Recreational CB Radio that can be installed and used in almost any vehicle. This CB is the smallest CB in the Cobra line-up. Don’t be fooled – this tiny CB includes dual mode AM/FM and it is packed with both standard and convenient CB features such as RF Gain, VOX, Auto Squelch, AutoPower, and comes with a dynamic microphone with channel controls. Small and high performing!
Is it easy to set up at home?
The Cobra 19 MINI AM/FM CB does not come with an AC option, yet it is very easy to set up at home with a 12V power supply.
Do I need an antenna to use my 19 MINI AM/FM CB?
Yes, an antenna system is required to use and operate your 1 MINI AM/FM CB. Cobra offers antennas and mounts on cobra.com and support guides for installation. If you have questions or need help understanding which antenna will best suit your needs, please contact our Customer Care Group at 800-543-1608.
What antenna does it use?
Cobra offers Antenna options that can be purchased with the 19 MINI AM/FM CB. They are the 4’ Fiber Glass Antenna (Model #CA-4FTBL), 4-foot Super Flex Antenna (Model #CA-FLX401), the 18-inch Magnetic Mount Antenna (Model #HG A1000), and the 42-inch Magnetic Mount (Model #HG A1500). These can be found on Cobra.com or you can contact our Customer Care Group at 800-543-1608 if you need help or have questions.
What is the difference between the Cobra 19 MINI and Cobra 19 MINI AM/FM CB?
The 19 MINI AM/FM CB adds the FM Mode. The front panel now has a button labeled with “AM/FM” for easy mode changes. This same button will also support access to channel 9/19 with a press and hold. In addition, Cobra added a separate 12V power adapter and hardwire with connectors for added convenience to either power the CB through the vehicle’s 12V port or hardwire direct to battery.
Why do I need FM in my CB Radio?
Operating a CB radio with dual mode AM/FM will result in improved audio clarity and less background noise when FM mode is selected during two-way
communications. The dual mode also allows for backwards compatibility with AM users.
Does 19 MINI AM/FM CB come with a CLA adapter?
Yes, the 19 MINI AM/FM CB includes a 12V power adapter (CLA adapter) and powers through the 12V port in your vehicle. If your vehicle does not include a 12V port option, the MINI also includes a 48” hardwire option to install directly to your vehicle battery.
Will the 19 MINI AM/FM CB work with a CLA adapter?
Yes, the 19 MINI AM/FM CB will work with the CLA adapter included with the radio.
Will the 19 MINI AM/FM CB CLA adapter accessory work with the 19 MINI CB?
No, the CLA adapter that is included with the 19 MINI AM/FM CB will not work with the 19 MINI due to its unique design in the way it connects to the CB radio. If you would like a CLA power with the 19 MINI CB, you can purchase an aftermarket model available on the internet.
What if I lose my CLA adapter or hardwire kit?
If lost, needs replacement or to purchase multiple CLA adapters
or hardwire kits, you can purchase on Cobra.com’s Accessory pages located in the “Shop” section of the website.
Why is my 19 MINI AM/FM CB beeping constantly?
If VOX is being used and the ROGER BEEP is set to ON, a cycling beeping noise can happen, because VOX is triggered by sound. When ROGER BEEP is ON, VOX will be triggered by the ROGER BEEP tone that comes out of the speaker. This will keep triggering the TX (Transmit) function and can send the radio into a ‘ROGER BEEP’ cycle. To eliminate this cycle, set ROGER BEEP to OFF and increase the sensitivity level of VOX in MENU Options.
Why is my 19 MINI AM/FM CB getting hot?
If your 19 MINI AM/FM CB is installed in a poorly ventilated or
mounted/placed in an area of your vehicle where it is exposed to heat or a heating duct (and hot air is being blown on the radio), it will get hot and overheat and ultimately damage the radio. If this happens, install your radio in a ventilated area of your vehicle where there is ample air movement.

"It's being installed so I haven't actually used it yet, but we turned it on to check everything and it looks like it will fit nicely into the console compartment. And installing so I can take out easily to use in another vehicle. I thought we had to hook up to external speaker but is contained within. Only be used to monitor highway traffic. The GPS has all the accident info etc. but you never know when in a line of traffic which lane(s) are blocked, etc. but truckers talk."
