Here you can download software updates for your NavOne 2100/2200/2500. See descriptions below for specific information. The updates on this page are for the NAV ONE 2100/2200/2500 models only. Updates for other models can be found elsewhere on this site.
NOTE: Although the installer generally uses naming convention for the NavOne 2100, these updates are fully compatible and can be used directly with the NavOne 2200 and NavOne 2500. Simply follow directions for the NavOne 2100 to install updates in these models.
System Requirements
- PC Running Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.
- Mini USB Cable (commonly used with digital cameras).
- If you have a laptop computer, then the update can be applied in your car, using the cigarette cord to power the Nav One. If you do not have a laptop, then you will need a power supply to power the Nav One at the computer. If you do not have a 12 volt power source, one is available by calling Cobra customer service at 773-889-3087.
How to Check the Software Version in your Unit
NOTE: This procedure will place the NAV ONE unit into test mode. Execution of any of the functions in this mode except as specified below may impair operation of the unit or cause loss of user data.
- Turn on your NAV ONE with the front-panel button held down. Continue to hold the button for at least 3 seconds after turning on the unit. This will force your NAV ONE into test mode. On newer software versions, you may be prompted to press and release the front-panel button again. Do so if prompted.
- After the test menu appears, tap on SOFTWARE INFO in the upper-left corner.
- The software version and the database version should now be visible. Check the newest software version listed below under "Software Updates". If a newer version is available, please continue as described below to download and install the new software into your NAV ONE.
Be sure to take note of any restrictions based on the database version in your unit.
- You are done checking the software version. Please turn off your NAV ONE.
How to Apply a Software Update
Download the Software (Update Versions 3.2.0 and Higher)
- Click on the desired software version, listed below under "Software Updates". You only need to install the latest version. The latest version includes all previous updates.
- A window will pop up. Click on SAVE. Choose a location you will remember later and hit SAVE to download the update.
Download the Software (Update Versions Prior to 3.2.0)
- Click on the latest software version, listed below under "Software Updates". You only need to install the latest version. The latest version includes all previous updates.
- A window will pop up. Click on SAVE. A new window will pop up.
- Click on the DESKTOP button, located on the left side of the window.
- Click on SAVE, in the lower-right.
- The file will be downloaded into your computer, and an icon will appear on the desktop.
- Once the download is complete, double-click on the icon on your desktop, which is named "2100_Release".
- Click on RUN.
- Click on UNZIP. This will place the software update into a folder named c:\downloads\NavOne2100.
- After the files have been extracted, click on OK and then click on CLOSE.
Prepare your NAV ONE
NOTE: This procedure will place the NAV ONE unit into test mode. Execution of any of the functions in this mode except as specified below may impair operation of the unit or cause loss of user data.
- Turn the NAV ONE on with the front-panel button held down. Continue to hold the button for at least 3 seconds after turning on the unit. This forces your NAV ONE into test mode. On newer software versions, you may be prompted to press and release the front-panel button again. Do so if prompted.
- Connect the NAV ONE to the PC using the USB cable.
- Wait for the PC to recognize the NAV ONE. This will be indicated by a window poping up. Simply cancel or close the window. Please be patient - it typically takes 1 ~ 2 minutes for the computer to recognize the NAV ONE.
Install the Update (Update Versions 3.2.0 and Higher)

Double-click on the file named "NavOne2xxxInstaller_xxx.exe", which you previously downloaded and saved.
- Click on Run if the Security Warning pop-up appears.
- Click on Next when the NavOne 2xxxInstaller appears.
- Accept the License Agreement and hit Next.
- Prepare the unit per the Setup Instructions shown on the next screen. The NavOne should appear as a new external drive. If you are presented with a screen of choices of what to do with this new drive, simply note what letter is being used, and close the screen. If you are offered an option to scan the drive, select "Continue without scanning".
- After the unit has been recognized by the PC, which may take 1~2 minutes, hit Next.
- The InstallShield Wizard will now update files on the NavOne.
- When the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen appears, click on Finish. Disconnect your unit from the PC. The update is now complete.
Note for Windows Vista Users: At the end of the update, you may see a screen with a message that "This program might not have installed correctly". This is not a problem, and if it occurs, select the option "This program installed correctly" to continue.
Install the Update (Update Versions Prior to 3.2.0)
- Double-click on My Computer (on your desktop). Under Hard Disk Drives, double-click on Local Disk (C:)
- Double-click on the folder downloads.
- Double-click on the folder NavOne2100.
- Double-click on the file 2100Update. This will start the update program. A new window will appear, and files will be copied into your NAV ONE. The copy process is done when the window disappears. This process should take approximately 5 minutes.
- Unplug the USB and power cables. The update process is complete.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before downloading a software update, please check the map database version in your nav unit.
If your unit does not have database 8034, then the highest software version you can use is 2.70
