MIAMI, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cobra Electronics (Nasdaq: COBR) today announced the launch of a new line of handheld and fixed-mount VHF radios that offer professional-level features at recreational prices. The 2007 products include the first handheld VHF radio with Rewind-Say-Again(TM), a digital voice recorder that automatically records the last 20 seconds of transmission. The five-watt lithium polymer-powered handheld can also be used as an All-Terrain-Radio that seamlessly goes from VHF to GMRS two-way radio.
The MR HH425LI VP with Rewind-Say-Again allows boaters to replay calls as well as record messages for later playback. Missing an important call over a noisy engine is no longer a problem.
With the push of the band key, the MR HH425LI VP can transition from marine VHF frequencies to one of 15 GMRS channels, making it the first fully-submersible All-Terrain-Radio. Tapping into its expertise as a world leader in GMRS radios, Cobra included mainstay features in its new VHF radio, including patented VibrAlert(R) for silent alerts, DCS and CTCSS codes for privacy and VOX for hands-free transmission.
The new fixed-mount radio in Cobra's VHF arsenal is the submersible MR F80B. The first Cobra Class-D VHF radio to be released on the U.S. market, its advanced features include Rewind-Say-Again(TM), customer channel presets, operation from the hand microphone, and local and distant modes for busy waterways. There are also several advanced features that can be enabled when the MR F80B is connected to Cobra's MC 600C chartplotters.
The 2007 line of VHF radios also comes equipped with features Cobra customers have come to rely on such as 10 NOAA weather channels, a large illuminated LCD display and illuminated function keys, all in compact designs and at affordable price points.
In addition to the 2007 radios, Cobra offers a complete line of VHF products in a wide variety of features and prices, starting at an MSRP of $69.95.
Cobra's new line is on sale now at major marine and outdoor equipment retailers. The handheld MR HH425LI VP is available at an MSRP of $169.95; the fixed-mounted MR F80B is available at an MSRP of $189.95; and the handheld MR HH325 VP is available at an MSRP of $119.95.
Cobra is showcasing its new and existing lines of VHF radios, as well as its chartplotters, in-car navigation devices and other great Cobra products at the 2007 Miami International Boat Show, February 15-19 in booth #1610.
